Hornitos Church

Church (Hornitos) - Mariposa County  2019

Church (Hornitos) - Mariposa County  2019

After Coulterville I looped down to Hornitos on the way to Mariposa. I've visited this church several times, but I've never seen anyone else there. At least there were some nice clouds in February.

Below, a 1946 photo by A. Adams of the same subject (we'll see if I get a takedown notice):

You shouldn't get any flack for this appropriation. It has the source name
right on the image, for heaven's sake.

I've done dozens of "reviews" of photographers and painters with images
available online, but the only complaint I ever had was from the descendants
of Morley Baer, who just wanted me to credit the estate as a permission,
which I was happy to do.

In another instance, I made disparaging remarks about a Central California
judge who was making partisan decisions in favor of big agribusiness, and
his internet watchdog got Blogger to kill the post, without even specifying what
the reason was.

The Web is the wild west, but that will soon be changing, I fear.

Thanks for the info! You never know.

Somewhere there's also an E. Weston photo of the church door. I wonder how they (Adams and Weston) found the church. Maybe it was known as an interesting photo op? Like I said, I've never seen anyone else there.
