Piano - South Dakota (1987)

Piano - South Dakota 1987

We were in South Dakota to visit my grandparents in Aberdeen, staying at a motel in the vicinity. By that time they had moved out of their house to a smaller senior apartment.

So this photo had to have been taken in a relative's house. Alas, I don't have the slightest memory of the place. Oh well . . . although I don't think I ever made a print of the negative, the photo is actually kind of cool.

Flight to Zurich / South Dakota

Airplane Map - South Dakota  2019

Taken during our flight to Zurich. I was pleased to see that we were passing through (yes, above) South Dakota.

Below, some more older photos taken in South Dakota, on the ground.

Go Go (Aberdeen) - South Dakota - 1987

More South Dakota photos. I can't be sure, but I think I was using an Olympus OM-1 SLR. My Nikon F was stolen in the late 70's and was too expensive to replace, so I moved to Olympus.

Results of some recent film scans. These photos were taken on a trip that I took with my parents to South Dakota in 1987.

[Update: that's the Capitol Theater in back of Bill.]

. . . from the archives #91: Church - South Dakota, 1958

Church - South Dakota  1958

Abandoned church, photo taken with an Argus C3 during a family trip to the midwest.  (Rear of Nash Rambler seen on the left.) Statuary was all smashed up on the inside, but still amazingly intact.

Nice shot of the interior below.
