Cloudy - Berkeley  2025

Cloudy first showed up on the blog in 2017, with many appearances thereafter.  At first encountered strictly outdoors, but recently, inside Jim and Margaret's house. 

For various reasons I found myself alone inside their house last January, when someone started banging on the screen door. Yep, it was Cloudy. Cloudy definitely wanted something, probably food, but didn't get anything from me.

We were over in Berkeley so that Margaret and Jim could check out my new Sony RX100VII. When we arrived we were gratified to see that Cloudy was hanging around their front yard. Then it transpired that Cloudy was being let into their house! Wow!

I took a photo of Cloudy on the living room carpet, but with not enough space above the creature's head in the photo. So I added some extra carpet using Photoshop. (Original shot below.)

At Viks Chaat in Berkeley; the rain was really quite heavy. We were eating outside under a roofed dining area when I heard the diesel horns of the Union Pacific locomotive. Peeked around the corner to take this photo with my iPhone.

Those ducks were regular visitors in our neighborhood for quite a while, spending time near the swimming pool and down by the creek.

The Berkeley ducks were seen in the parking lot of Viks Chaat restaurant. Maybe looking for some biryani.

Bottom: Art piece seen while wandering around Berkeley's 4th Street shopping area. OK, I was struck by how the artist had included a electrical tower in his piece. Whoa! That's interesting. I can't imagine being able to sell a photograph that had high tension wires in it.
