Monday Eurasian Tree Sparrow Blogging

Tree Sparrows (Hakodate) - Japan  2024

"Eurasian Tree Sparrow (Passer montanus) is most popular sparrow in Japan. They are called 'スズメ (suzume)' in Japanese.

"They hop on the ground restlessly. Also, they cry 'chun, chun!'. It's very familiar sounds for Japanese people."

I just managed to take a few pix before they flew away. (Didn't hear them cry "Chun chun" alas.)

I liked this painting seen in Wikipedia:

Ink on silk painting by Huang Quan c. 965 CE

Sweet birds, both in the photo and the very lovely painting. I often come to your blog for calming respite from the news of the day; today is a perfect example. The photos are both calming and exciting; how do you do that?
