As I recall, the childhood game we called Chutes and Ladders is called Snakes and Ladders in Mexico. Instead of sliding down the chute you slide (slither?) down the snake. Finding them together is a good bit of serendipity.

There's a 2015 photo of Snake Pit on the blog, but no ladder, alas.
