Nobody on the trail coming down from Glen Camp to the Bear Valley Road . . . then plenty of morning walkers and runners. The light level was pretty low, but I was carrying an Olympus E-M1II which has quite robust image stabilization . . . worked!

Then, back to the car and the drive home.

During the night the sound of the nearby ocean surf was clearly audible . . . nice. (Couldn't hear it during the day.) I got up pretty early, as usual, everyone else in camp still in their tents. Made some Starbucks instant coffee, had a protein bar, then took my time packing up.

Finally ready to go at around 8:00 AM. Hiked on out with almost everyone still in their tents.

Nice and shady, unlike the sites at Coast Camp. Tent is a Big Agnes Tiger Wall 2-person ultralight. (I guess you could fit two people in there, but it would be tight.) I like the right-angle rod in the middle which really adds to the interior space.

Now and then a slight breeze came up, creating a slight chill, which I warded off by using a recent Uniqlo purchase.

So, three miles on a fairly level dirt road, then one and a half miles on a narrow trail, going up.

It was the last one and a half miles that got to me. Had to take it kind of slow, actually. After what seemed like an interminable amount of time finally made it to my campsite, plopped the pack down and got out the pale ale.

We visited the park during the first week of its reopening. It was difficult to take photos of the actual plants, etc, because the plantings have been spread out around a circular track. Will undoubtedly become very crowded in the future.

Salesforce Park is an unusual new venue that recently reopened in San Francisco, on a second-story heavily landscaped terrace near the oddly-shaped Salesforce Tower.
