I was taking some fog-enshrouded fence photos on state road A23 between Sattley and Portola when I saw a large bird perched on one of the fence posts. He let me move closer - slightly closer - then took off. I've cropped and enhanced the above image in Photoshop. Exact ID is surprisingly difficult!
