We were returning to Fairfax from San Francisco on a recent foggy day. It's been a while since I've stopped at the overlook, but I was sure that the sight of the fog drifting through the bridge towers would be pretty nice. It was! 

After taking some photos with my Olympus E-M1II with the 14-150mm lens I switched to the iPhone 7 Plus and took a panorama. (Click to enlarge.)

I used a Nikon Z5 with a 24-200mm zoom lens.

Taken after Hali's accident during our ill-fated 2011 horsepacking trip. I had ridden back out on Maple the horse, then the packer and I headed back to where my car was parked. He stopped to get gas on the way - the top photo was taken from the gas station using a Canon G12.

Early the next morning I got a cinnamon roll from the bakery at the June Lake junction and took it and a cup of coffee to my usual Mono Lake viewpoint. (Photo taken using a Nikon D90.)Then over to Modesto and the Kaiser hospital there.

Mono Lake #1

Mono Lake - Mono County  1994

A strange desert lake just east of Yosemite. Here’s a shot of Mono Lake, taken in, I think, May, 1994, when there was still snow on the Sierra crest west of the lake. I was staying in a motel in nearby Lee Vining, got up early and drove over to the visitor’s center parking lot. As usual at that early hour, nobody was there.

I set up my 4x5 view camera and took this photograph, shivering, as the sun rose over the desert expanses to the east. (Click for larger photo.)

This is the my only photo of Mono Lake I've been able to find that was taken in the last century. There must be more!

Those ducks were regular visitors in our neighborhood for quite a while, spending time near the swimming pool and down by the creek.

The Berkeley ducks were seen in the parking lot of Viks Chaat restaurant. Maybe looking for some biryani.
