Kilo (Fairfax) - Marin County 2022 |
Kilo sometimes is wearing a name tag, sometimes not. The condo cat from across the street.
Fritos & Beer - Truckee 2022 |
Toyota, Snow Banks - Truckee 2022 |
I had thought that my destination was somewhere near South Lake Tahoe. But no, we had reservations at the Hyatt Hotel in Incline Village, Nevada. This meant driving up Highway 80 to Truckee, then heading over to the north edge of Lake Tahoe.
For lunch I bought a sandwich and Fritos at a convenient Subway (influenced by KDramas? - no.) I remembered an open area just north of Truckee on Highway 89 and drove there. Lots of snow! I found a place to park and had a tailgate Fritos & Beer lunch.
Varsity - Davis 2022 |
In late January I drove over to Lake Tahoe for some snow/ski adventures with Masa, Shawna and the grandkids.
I myself did not participate in the ski adventures, however. Going there as an observer.
On the way there, I stopped for a mid-morning break and took a short walk around Davis.
Branches - Point Reyes 2022 |
The last time I visited the Sky Camp area was some years ago. So I was interested to see what changes the Woodward Fire had made to the landscape.
There were plenty of green plants to be seen while hiking in. Unfortunately, there's quite a bit of invasive ivy crowding out other plants. But no real evidence of the fire until you arrive at Sky Camp.

Stay Gold - Oakland 2022 |
Be Nice - Oakland 2022 |
Stay Gold Deli in Oakland. I don't have a good food memory. I think the BBQ was good.
Redwoods (Lake Lagunitas) - Marin County 2021 |
Oak, Fog (Lake Lagunitas) - Marin County 2021 |
There was plenty of fog down by the entry station, but alas, none higher up at the lake.
Taken with a Nikon Z5 and a newly acquired 50mm lens: "The size and weight of the Z Nikkor makes it a good match for the compact Z-series bodies it’s designed for although it is not the smallest lens. The Z Nikkor also focuses fast and reliably and is sealed thoroughly. And finally the lens produces quite pleasing Bokeh that’s not far behind the rendering of very good f1.4 lenses and to me, actually surpasses Nikon’s own 50mm f1.4G. This overall performance justifies the price and deserves a Highly Recommended!"

Reeds (Lake Lagunitas) - Marin County 2021 |
They're webs all right, but are they spider webs? I looked, but didn't see any actual spiders. It's a mystery.
I think these are the last shots to be posted that were taken by my rented Nikon Z7II. Someday I'll have to write a little post about my experience with the camera.
