These fellows were manhandling this baby at the valley view in Yosemite when I stopped by. They were very absorbed in their work, though, so I'm not exactly sure what process they were using. Photographs were being printed and fixed on the spot using, interestingly enough, an ice fishing tent (!)

OK, so now I'm going through my May photos, mainly deleting the non-keepers. Of course as I'm doing the deleting, I'm also finding some nice things that I missed first time around. Now I'm in the midst of the May Yosemite trip and have therefore come up with a few more posts.

The above photos were taken during my cloud-enhanced visit to Glacier Point. Also, I guess that I should mention that all photos were taken with an Olympus E-PL5 using a 14-150 zoom lens.

Supposed to be very good, but our verdict is still out. Small Japanese plates: we ordered several and requested that they come separately.

But they came all together. So differentiating between them was difficult. Mike, however, really liked the beer mugs.

. . . with the Olympus E-PL5, a very small "micro four-thirds" camera. It has the same sensor as the Olympus OMD EM5, but it was $500 less. But it has some ergonomic issues. We'll see.

Two signs I've seen this year, one in Calaveras Big Trees State Park, the other in Yosemite, both with examples of the unthinking depredation of the wilderness that occurred in the 1800's. Implied in these statements is the assumption that we modern folk are so much more sensitive and in tune with our surroundings that we'd never allow environmental catastrophes to occur.

One wonders what kind of interpretive signs will be posted in the coming years concerning the folks of the 2000's and their stewardship of the land.
