Three Roses - Marin County 2013 |
After I had set up the E-PL1 on a tripod to get this photograph I could see that part of the image was going to be too bright for the sensor to record. Then I remembered that Photoshop CS6 has improved HDR capabilities. HDR stands for High Dynamic Range, wherein multiple photos are taken, over- and under-exposed, as well as a normal exposure. I took three separate photos using the dials on the camera to change the shutter speed. (I haven't figured out how to bracket yet.)
The different shots were then combined in Photoshop so that all parts of the subject have detail with no parts lost to shadow or highlights. Might take some getting used to.
