One main rule for effective action/sports photographs is . . . uh . . . well . . .

OK, I don't know what any of the rules are for effective action photographs.

To shoot at a shutter speed fast enough to stop action, unless you puposely want a blurred effect.

Yes!

And also, anticipate the action as it unfolds in front of you . . . be ready to press the shutter at just the exact correct moment.

But also, the post was meant as a kind of parody of various self-important blogs purporting to give photo advice to the unwashed masses.

Who reads blogs to get photo advice anyway?
