Thanks for the comments! Interestingly enough, the meadow/Lassen view can be seen right from the road. Getting to the exact viewpoint, though, required tromping through some mud.
Plenty of smoke up in the mountains right now, for sure. It seems that the current Yosemite fire is centered right near my routine El Portal campground.
