Taken at my campsite in El Portal, near the entrance to Yosemite.
I'm thinking, an Acorn woodpecker, right? He kept returning to the same branch after ranging out and above the Merced River. So, are woodpeckers able to snag insects phoebe-like in flight? My book doesn't say.
