We traveled to Tokyo a day earlier than we had planned (weather-related), taking the shinkansen from Kyoto Station to Tokyo Station. Interesting: most passengers got off at Shinagawa, the station just before Tokyo Station. Anyway, by now we knew the drill: once at Tokyo Station stay in the JR section and eventually find the Chuo Line to Shinjuku Station.
After we arrived, there was a lot of back and forth iPhone texts before we finally connected with the Sasakis. We had a quick lunch at a stand-up curry place before we took the Odakyu Line to Kyodo Station. (KyoDO, not KyoTO). Then a few blocks walk to the rental Airbnb.
