Walking to the Beach

Volleyball - Chicago  2017

Uncle Sam, Volleyball - Chicago  2017

We were able to walk from our hotel to a beach on Lake Michigan. We passed some fancy townhomes before we came to a pedestrian underpass leading to some volleyball players.

As long as we're on the subject of volleyball, check out an earlier shot: Pismo Beach #2.

I spent time in Chicago during the 1990's.

If you want to see wealth, drive up the lakeside highway to Highland Park and Evanston. Mansion after mansion after mansion for miles.

Another interesting swing is over to Oak Park, where many of Frank Lloyd Wright's first residential commissions still exist, in a neighborhood that includes his own house and studio (they give tours etc.). Well worth the trip.

Speaking of tours, sometime I'd like to take the tour of Tor House, in Carmel. But I'm never there on the weekend.
