9:15 AM: The famous Empire State Building Observation Deck!
For some reason I didn't pack enough warm clothing: this was the first time in the trip that I became aware of that. But not the last.
The "Freedom Tower" can be seen jutting up above the horizon in the distance. Below, a telephoto view:
