The trail turns a corner and runs parallel to Big Pine Creek for quite a while. This is a pleasant, shaded area (called "Cienega Mirth" on the topo map), very noisy with the sound of the creek nearby.

The cut log shot is interesting.
I begins to move, as abstraction, into other metaphorical options, i.e., like aerial shots of cities
or agricultural land--you probably know Garnet's work, or Emmet Gowin's?
Might make a good b&w too.
. . . or, with some obscure enigmatic quotation, it could almost be a Minor White.
