Leaving Los Alamos Mike headed south through the Jemez Mountains passing directly by Valles Caldera National Preserve, located inside a 89,000 acre collapsed volcanic crater. As he was taking pix he noticed his fingers starting to become numb. Of course he had to check out the temperature once he got back inside the car. Yikes!
