Taken at the intersection of La Cienega and Beverly Boulevards. At one point, the main attraction for our family was the Pony Rides. I remember one memorable occasion when we were able to meet Hopalong Cassidy there (I think). I'm going to say (thanks to the internet) that the Pony Rides were still there in 1972.
Now, of course, the location is home to the multistory posh Beverly Center shopping mall.

That was a really special place for our family, too. The pony rides were It!
I never rode the ferris wheel; I remember that when I was a kid that wheel was really, really high, and pretty scary.
There were also fast ponies, and slow ponies.
And Hopalong Cassidy matching outfits - don't think I ever got a fast pony...............................p
Somewhere in the Mundy Family Archives there are 16mm movies . . .
And, wasn't there also an oil well somewhere in the background?
Yes! I remember an oil derrick, too! Amazing...
