Isumi Railway

Isumi Railcar - Japan  2017

Isumi Railcar Interior - Japan  2017

Finally . . . the famous Isumi Railroad! We purchased an all-day ticket, which we didn't really need because we ended up only going to one town. Actually, did anyone ever check our tickets? Maybe once.

  1. Japanese trains are the greatest.

I can still remember the station agent, in his dark blue suite and hat, with his pocket watch, counting off the seconds to the exact time of departure. So efficient!

I took the Shinkansen from Aomori to Tokyo a couple of times--like riding in a jet. Zoom.

Also, on the local runs, there were these cute little ladies selling bento boxes, which they carried in a little tray, like old-time cigarette girls.

  2. Bento boxes are great!

I could be misremembering, but I think that one could also purchase a can of beer from the ladies. Although I always ended up with Coke Zero.
